2:16:11

A day off of work today or rather a day late starting as I am working through the night to [dull geek stuff]. So the plan was to have a restful afternoon after going for an overdu long run. Has not worked out quite as I planned; no sleep this afternoon, rather watching the first of the finals in the one day cricket between England and Australia. Good to see a batting collspse from Aus and a target that England might be able to reach. Maybe.

The day started as planned with a run. No stricly true I suppose, I had a warmup of sorts by taking the dog for a walk in a small shower and then I went for my run. Shame it didn't rain more as I ran. Managed 2:16:11 and was happy with that, but damn it was tough. Again. Hills and heat, and the heat, by local standards, was down. Having been on the gatorade as I ran and before, I managed to piss earlier and more often than after my previous long and water-only run. Too much information? As most folks started their day at work I was jogging to and over the Bridge, around the Opera House and Farm Cove and then back. I do love running around places that still manage to take my breath away. I probably did too little stretching when I was finished and then showered and once again took Rumpole for a walk, this time to a cafe in Naremburn where I had two breakfasts, two coffees and a lunch and the pooch had a load of adoration from grown ups and hassle form small kids. He seemed to take it all in his stride.

Back from that I almost got an afternoon sleep but Sal called, woke me up and I did not fall back asleep. Same cannot be said for the dog, who slept under the sofa and kept letting loose with rancid farts. In the end I kicked his stinkin arse onto his pillow over the other side of the room where he went straight back to sleep as I didn't. So I watched the cricket up to but not including the batting collpase that I missed when I went to the physio for a bit more back massage. Back is far better; but lets see how I pull up in the morning. My ITBs were bastard tight this morning and if anything siezes overnight it will be them. Other dog stuff; he sometimes sleeps with his eyes a little open. Just as creepy in dogs as in humans.

I wish England would score more runs and lose fewer wickets early in their innings. They have started soooo slowly. Too few boundaries and too much test-match-style prodding. Unlikely to get much sleep before I start work at 23:00 with a decent cricket game to watch.

So there goes another day. No rescuing women from burning buildings or scoring wining goals or breaking records to report. Just another day in paradise. Did manage to get front row seats for Dylan Moran in April. That's good news.
