the power of dreams

Seems like an age since the last proper post so best have a run through before I forgt it all. Not that there is much 'all'. Work has started to get to me and I am off for a third interview on Monday and looking for an escape route. We shall see; I do feel a bit bad about bailing before the end of my contract...but not as bad as I feel about sticking to it. Or something.

Exercise news is situation normal; over the bridge, around the piers and on Thursday I romped home first in the 2007 tec trot run one, nearly busting my balls in the process in the heat. But a win is a win and I know that more than the England cricket team. Oh hold on, we've beaten New Zealand. Just. Pfff.

Dog days see swings and roundabouts. Thought I was doing very well with Rumpole until Sal came back from the vet where he had his final jab. Apparently cockers, especially males, test there owners and want to be alpha male so you have to be very firm with them. Peter the vet had one and loved it to bits, so I guess he knows better than a lot of the internet folks I've read. Reading about rage syndrome in cockers was not a great idea. Bloody internet. So this afternoon he has not been allowed in the house until invited, has been made to sit and stay when he does not want to and has seen a sudden change in his mum and dad. Tough days ahead and tough nights; no more sunroom for him, he sleeps under the house tonight. We expect howling. And he's big for his age, as was his Dad.

But he has been very good. He had a small voyage out yesterday evening too when Sal and I went to the local video store (United 93, good movie.) We waqlked him a bit on the lead - he was cool, and I sat with him when Sal got the movie. He attracted much attention; girls love him and blokes see that he is an easy-pull weapon. Damn he is cute.

Domestic situation and I gave the new lawnmower a try out today. The Power of Dreams Honda 4 stroke powered Victa mower runs, for a mower, very nicely. Another toy has had a couple of workouts; my (early) birthday present from Sal - a juicer. Melon and pineapple in the week, carrot apple ginger for breakfast. Yum.

In other news. Sal needs glasses. Oh dear. Blurriness in one eye, but I think short-sighted is all (well I say 'I' but I mean the optomotrist.) I am spotting cicaddas in the garden almost daily. Today I spotted a stink beetle.

You see, I told you these last few days had been mundane.
