Cycling along Parawi road in Mosman on Saturday after another "Weekend Warrior" blast around Manly Dam. In the space of around 150m I passed four - yes, FOUR - Audi Q7s. Having never liked these sack-of-cash-on-wheels wanker-mobiles I felt happily validated in my opinion. Mosman, for those who don't know, is home to some of Sydney's more monied. Therefore it is home to many, many four wheel drive motors that are used mainly to ferry young Tarquin too and from clarinet class and only go off road to traverse the gravelled driveways of houses that are the accomodation equivalent of the Q7. Broad-brush generalisation maybe, but I was sticking to it as I released both bile-barrels at JCJ over tea and a cake later in the cycle.
Fast forward to this morning when, as I approached the bus stop, I heard my name hollered from a passing motor. Jason, dog owner from a couple of streets away, nice bloke, was saying hello from the drivers seat of his Q7. Speechless intitially I had to tell him...and he seemed to agree. Yep, he grinned back from a car that costs the same as a small house, wanker car!
