I woke up in the morning feeling somewhat lighter of mood and you can now re-read the previous entry to see how the day started. After that we grouped up with our fellow house-guests and readied ourselves for the 200metre saunter to the party home. The house is old and cheaply built and full of character and - the best bit - has no defined back fence...the grass becomes sand which then becomes south pacific ocean. Very nice. The guests were a friendly bunch of friends (I guess that is obvious...) and family and the afternoon became night and the chat was chatted and the beer was drunk, as was I.
On that...we'd taken some wine but Sal had felt the need to get some beer and went to the local bottle shop where she purchased an eight pack (I didn't know you could get eight packs) of some "Platinum" stuff. The label looked sort of cool and Sal had thought it was some sort of nicer drop. Most guests thought we were alcoholics, as this stuff is 6.5% rocket fuel and after a run and a swim and a smallish breakfast it had me rather merry rather early.
Anyway, the day wore on and I put the world to rights with one guy, got comprehensively beaten at table tennis twice, had a swim (before I was too drunk) and had a good time.
Damnit.
