a rarity

Rarely do I have anything good to say about the Catholic (or any other) Church, but having read this article I must say I am impressed with their common sense.

The Catholic Church said "neither the Catholic Church nor Cardinal Pell asked for the additional police powers", adding "we understand some people may want to protest and they have the right to do so peacefully and lawfully".

Not so good on the New South Wales government though. As scatrd says in his blog, police state on the way. Good work from the politicians though. Without all this extra press coverage there would be virtually no outrage.

World Youth Day is almost here. Can't wait.
