laughably shit Aussie TV

4:30pm - 5:30pm | Nine HD PG Documentary

Celebrate 60 years of an Australian icon - the Holden. Journey through six decades of the cars that are stamped on our history, the people who built them, raced and loved them. Also, a sneak peek into the future.

Actually next to fuck all about old, classic cars and plenty about how great Holden is. So, actually an advert. Typically shit Australian TV. Adverts passed off as programming. They were, however, good enough to mention how well the Aussie Holden measures up internationally. Well, against American cars. So how well a big V8 new world GM car does against other big V8 GM cars. No mention of how well they compare to, say, German or Japanese cars. Funny that.

Australia. The land that TV forgot. Oh wait, hold on, what's this? We are about to experience a completely new type of television...free to air digital channels. Wow. Completely new. Unless you've ever been to somewhere outside of Australia like, say, the UK. Where there has been freeview for years.

I need to stop before this descends into me simply trying to, in typed form, scream "Australian TV is complete fucking shite"!

(apart from ABC and SBS, which are quite good.)
