House Episode 2

Just a short one. Site survey - or detailed plan of our land - complete with all the details required by the architect we have chosen, or neighbour as we prefer to call her. We've signed a few things and the design phase is about to start. Apparently the completion of all the paperwork we need to submit a development proposal to council is likely to take around four months. With a fair wind and some luck we may have approval in around two further months and after that we will have our construction certificate and can start building. Not sure how long the build will take, but probably longer than I'd like and a bit longer than I'd expect. Let's say around nine months. All up, if we keep on top of things and have a smooth run, we may have our renovation and addition complete in time for Christmas next year. Watch this space.
