I'd not been expecting to hear back from the architect quite so soon and was pleasantly surprised when we got an email on Tuesday saying some prelimnary plans were ready. When would we like to see them, I'm free on Wednesday evening the message went on. Well dur, Wednesday evening of course! Sal damn near wet herself with excitement.
We'd been impressed with the intial sketches, though there were one or two things that needed a tidy up. The new plans have made the changes - more bench space here, a shower there - and altered the original somewhat, but in ways that make the design better than before. Damn she's good. We may even get a double-height space in the stairwell between the two floors - how cool is that - and the phrase "parent's retreat" was used. Nice.
Anyway, cutting to the chase. Love the design, and now we need to get in touch with a structural engineer to make sure it is economically possible for us to proceed. Hoping we don't hear "well yes, you can do that. But it'll cost ya" and we do hear "pft, piece-o-piss."
