There has been a shameful lack of baby info in here, so I'll try and put that right. Whenever we go to cafes with Alex we now let her try some of whatever we're eating. Pancakes, banana bread, sausage, egg - in fact I should top listing because she'll eat anything. She has two bottom teeth, diamond sharp, ad now a top tooth the size of a small tombstone. If you are stupid enough to put a finger in her mouth, as I am, she can draw blood. She is not quite up to feeding herself. She will pick up food and it may end up in her mouth, but a lot of the time she is happier to play with it, grinning much of the time. If it looks like it won't happen either Sal or I lend a helping hand and pop the item into her mouth where usually she'll chew and eat it, but may do the exact opposite of what we'd hoped and use one of her hands to remove the food so she can roll it in her fingers.Sal and I interact a lot with little 'un when we're in cafes and Sal pointed out that other people love to see people playing with their baby and that a lot of parents don't do it. Weird. AJ gets admiring glances and draws them as she is alert to everything around her and will look all around and vocalise and get very animated. If she sees another small person or a dog she becomes especially vocal.
She is yet crawling - she can, and sort of has, but why crawl when rolling works just fine? She is picking up a load of other skills. She vocalises a lot and among the zombie grunts and whale song gurgles are an ever growing list of word sounds. A few days ago she started to hand on of her play-bricks to me. I'd hand it back, she'd take it, look at it, hand it back to me. Rinse and repeat. Damn cute. Not done that since. he seems to pick up a skill and then move on, rather than stick to one and do it over and again. She gets that from her mum.
She is a chunky monkey. If she's not asleep she's eating (haha.) She has more hair than me and the bald spot is disappearing. Her hair seems to be ash-blonde and is dead straight. Her eyes are a green-blue-grey, a bit like mine. Her skin is not as pale as mine; I'd not say olive, but here is a bit of colour to it. Look, I've taken that many pictures of her that I hardly need to continue describing in words what she looks like.
She is a wilful little thing, if that is possible in one so young. Probably isn't, but I can only describe her in terms that are meaningful to me.
Gotta go; Alex and I are going for a swim :-) Dammit I love that little monkey-bum
