Fell asleep in front of the tele again last night, same as last week. I blame Kevin McCloud. That and sleeping on the floor in the lounge, of course. Grand Designs came on the idiot box, I switched off the light, decided to watch till the next ad break and promptly fell asleep. Woke up at a little before midnight to switch the tele off. Alex called out for milk at a little before 4am and I woke up feeling pretty ordinary. Nose was running, couldn't get back to sleep, or so I thought until I looked at the clock a little later to find it was an hour later. I guess I must have nodded off again. Still felt pretty ordinary though. I'm fairly sure I'm fighting a cold, probably picked up from Alex who was snotting all over the place earlier in the week but now seems fine. There is an outside chance that it is a hayfever thing - westerly winds, or rather the stuff they blow from inland can sometimes make me feel ordinary - but it is starting to feel decidedly cold-like.As long as it stays off of my chest I'll be fine. But I don't think I'll be finishing Janathon in particularly heroic fashion. I've got my revised target in sight and it looks like I'll grind out the final few miles to get there. The run to work sort of washed over me today. I'd walked the dog and felt reasonably human, got back and squirted some Vicks First Defence up my nose. The first few metres away from the house, as I made my way to work, felt a bit weird and detached. My mind wandered, I thought about this and that and not a lot about running. Now I'm at work and I feel as if I have a temperature, but as the aircon is buggered - again - and as it is *is* hot it is a bit tough to tell if it's just the temp or me. The running nose and sneezing are a bit of a giveaway. For those who would like too much information, the stuff running from my nose is clear, not green, and that gives me hope that I'm infection free. Best keep the fluids and food up, have a run at lunch and get onto the Lemsip Max and OJ when I get home. Should be able to batter it into submission, or at least keep it at bay. Of course there is also the chance that my body, now the end is nigh, is simply starting to shut down. Who knows? Guess I will by Monday night.
Lunch was the Anzac Bridge out and back which gave me 50mins rest from snotting. Running is good like that. Of course now I'm back the taps are on again and my throat is starting to feel as if it's been sandpapered. Hanging for that Lemsip. Running conditions were a little better today. Overcast, a little cooler and a little less humid. Tomorrow should be similar, which is a relief. Looks like I'm going to have to pop into the office, so reckon that'll be tomorrow run.
Week for ends with a bit of a wimper. Sorry readers...
