She would have happily jumped in the backpack to go out for a walk with the dogs (well, a sit for her) but I thought she could take a day off. We took advantage of the Australia-England awake hour overlap we have by getting up so early and skyped my bro, her uncle (natch) before he headed out to the pub. He's a runner too, y'know, and it is him that is responsible for me taking part in torturathon - sorry, Janathon. AJ decided to be mainly mute, but did demonstrate her iPad skills and say goodbye.

Sal got up a little earlier than usual, I handed over the baton and took just Rowlf down to middle Harbour for his swim. His walk was roughly the run I did yesterday, the main difference today being that it rained - some proper rain. I hoped it would keep raining and decided that I'd drop him at home, give him some breakfast and head straight out for a short run. Sal and AJ were out, little 'un getting a mullet - sorry, bob - haircut. Gave me an opportunity to run before AJ's morning nap which would, I figured, give me an opportunity later to nap when she did. Smart eh? Up here for thinking, down there for running...

Of course it had stopped raining when I got home, bloody weather. So I had a short sweaty trot around what I call my Mowbray Road loop, a stock run, fairly short and about the flattest available. I live on a hill, so nothing is entirely flat.

Got home fairly hungry, fuelled so far by a single cappuccino, now 9km walked and 7km run. Threw down a couple of sarnies, made some vegemite toast for Alex and then the whole family crashed out on the sofas.

Restful day today, trophy run tomorrow, all being well.

AJ's gorgeous. Great commitment to fatherhood and janathon. I'm exhuasted already though, not looking forward to tomorrow.
