Should have done more (well, some) stretching yesterday and felt a bit tight today. AJ woke for milk at about 4:30 and then came out into the lounge room where she crashed out on her new foam sofa-bed-thing and so, at 5:30 I left her to sleep and headed out with the dogs around 15kg lighter than I am used to, but glad of the rest if not so chuffed at the lack of having my little mate along for the ride. As it happens AJ woke at 6 and Sal got her changed quick-smart, threw her in the car and met us up at the dog park for another family outing. Nice way to start to day.
Sal had made a cake for AJ to have with her mates at daycare today, a belated birthday sugar-rush now she is back to her old self. So, after a "you're invited" prod that a better father would probably not need, I knew I needed to be at daycare at three. So it was a midday run today.
Knee had a bit of a pull, left toe a bit skanky and blistered, temperature 29 degrees and humidity around 60% which, according to the humidex adds up to 36.7 degrees. In the shade. Clear blue skies, so it was a lovely day for the beach where you could spend most of the time in the water. Running, meh, not so great. Not too bad though; I picked a standard foreshore loop and towards the end decided to add a bit to get to 10km. It's a mental thing, and I may struggle a bit for miles this week. Didn't I say that last week? Whatever.
Back to the office for a while and then up to see the lady blow out her candles, blow her kazoo and be pretty much the only kid to eat no cake. Her loss; it was a nice cake. Sal, having also left early, wanted to do some shopping and needed a hand that a better husband would have noticed without the need for another prod. She is, after all, 5months. I had been toying with the idea of running back home form daycare but the blister was pissing me off so helping with the shopping was a no brainer, I didn't put up any resistance and yes, I am that selfish.

A very longsuffering wife you have there. But 10k is impressive after that ridiculous testosterone-fest yesterday!
