This morning I was on daycare duty because today is Sal's first day back in the office after her second spell of maternity leave. Just two days a week for the next month, Tuesdays and Wednesdays and then it’s back full time in a month. So today I took the opportunity to run to work from daycare which meant that, as the kid’s daycare is at the end of our road, I got to run an extra 500m before getting back to the same plod. Sorry dear reader, but this Janathon's miles really are a bit tedious. Last night I got a little depressed (not really, metaphorically) reading the trail running exploits of my peers.
Ooo, before I forget. If you're a trail runner you should take a look at the Motatapu Off Road Marathon. A guy at work who is married to a Kiwi thought I might like that. Does look pretty nice...
Anyway...in the nick of time Harrie decided to sleep through the night. Good work from Sal in managing her, but talk about cutting it fine! So it was a reasonable night's sleep for everyone. No rain this morning, but the humidity was up, pushing 90% at 06:00. That made for a sweaty trip to work. So sweaty, in fact, that I could not bring myself to take my Nikes up into the office. As long as I am moving and my nose remains upwind of them all is OK. But sheesh, when I stop; they are minging. I do want to see if I can do every Janathon mile in them but if that means running in a gas mask I may have to dust off the Asics. The new runners are currently stuffed with paper and locked in the bike cage in the garage, probably trying to escape by themselves.\
A few guys in the office went for a lunchtime run and came back somewhat red-faced and sweaty, which does not really bode well for the trip home. But hey, three hours until I next hit the road. Berrysmoothie and a caramel slice, and I suppose I best get a bit of work done…
And so I ran home and then faced my greatest challenge, using runningfreeonline. Look, I don't want to dwell, in case it comes back on the event organisers or gets me banned. Details of today's 26km of commuting are here, albeit entered manually with a link to garminconnect because RFO will not allow me to upload from my device or a file. Whereas most other sites I have used...er...will.
Sorry about the short, dull post. Lost my computer Mojo at the moment.

We almost went to Motatapu...by which I mean we went to Rangitoto, the volcano next door. Saw the races advertised though, and thought of you.
looks like a lotta uphill
