I took my running gear to work today for the possible but unlikely lunchtime top-up. I ended up working through lunch but I did, of course, run to work. I was expecting a busy afternoon but things got a little less busy and I grabbed the opportunity to leave on the dot of 4 and run home (or rather to H's daycare.)
Which was pretty much the reverse of the morning run. Through the City and over the Bridge, pass through Kirribilli then run up Thrupp and Wycombe streets to Military Road. Drop down to Spit Bridge then up 'mount Seaforth.' Heading to daycare instead of home adds a bit more climb the final hill.
So there are plenty of instances of me running up this or that hill. I'll pop in the Placebo version, which seems more apt for today because it's more in tune with my generally flat mood of late. And Brian Molko's vocal flatness is a neat counterpoint to the hilliness of the song. Good god, did I just type that?
So there you go. A bit low on inspiration today, maybe Friday will provide a bit of a pick-me-up. I suspect few if any Gods would be prepared to make a deal with me, so I shall be running up that road, running up that hill tomorrow and I'll just deal with any problems that crop up.
