My new GPS, a replacement for my ageing Garmin Forerunner 305, is the Garmin Vivoactive. I was tempted by the Fenix and Epix, but I could not justify the spend considering how few of the features I'd actually use. I don't pay much attention to data fields other than distance, time, lap time, average and current pace. Occasionally I will put on a heart rate monitor, but that is so rare that I decided to save the extra $60 the strap cost. Having said that, I did see if the HRM strap from the 305 would pair with the new watch...and it did. Sixty bucks well saved.
The Vivoactive has all the data fields I need and a few smart features. It pairs with my phone and automatically uploads my data. It send me mail, calendar and facebook notifications and it does the day to day activity tracking. And it is properly waterprrof. I like it. And I think it looks OK. But the best thing about it, and the thing that made me retire the 305, is the battery life. Even with my reasonably high mileage I get several days on a charge. The blurb says you get 10hrs on the GPS, up to 3weeks without. Alas the 305, from full, was complaining about low battery during two runs earlier this year. I can't have that I'm afraid. And it locks on satellites far more quickly than the 305. The times I've spent 5minutes shivering in the pissing rain while the 305 stubbornly refuses to lock on...
The only pain with the Vivoactive is that it refuses to re-pir its conection to my phone once it is broken. Turning bluetooth off and on on my phone (currently a Samsung Galaxy S4) fixes it; not too much of a burden.
I need a song for the day. This is more a song for yesterday, when I hit the milestone of 2000km for the year to date. Have some Silverchair. It's got 2000 in the title. And the video is filmed about 200m from my office. That'll do.

Congrats on the mileage milestone! I am now revisiting Silverchair, it's been ages since I've listened to them and had forgotten how much I like their music.
