because I can

It was no-car today in the park today so I had a jog up and down the hallway, decided my back was OK to run, watched Paul Collingwood decide he didn't fancy a century in the first test and headed out. Being no-car day in the park I ran in the middle of the road. Because I could. The run was very OK. I think my back spasm has put a whole host of other muscles on the defensive. Oh well, 30minutes and a bit of stretching and I was done. The new blingin' Asics have been christened. Good news.

Earlier in the day I helped Mara and Adam collect some eBay goodies. A very comfortable three seater sofa and two chairs for £50 was a bargain. Very comfortable indeed. We all, Sal included once we got home, had a sit in one of the chairs and all of us sunk our arses in with a relaxed 'ahhhhh, oh yeah'. Very comfortable. Indeed. However, the sofa and chairs come a long way behind the Kriesler stereo pictured above. In pretty much mint condition and hence working order, this 1965 beauty is, for my money (well, Mara's, as she bought it) the greatest example of a set of iPod speakers. Forty one years old and it now has a new lease of life. I love it. Very jealous, and I have already been on eBay to see if there is another for sale and there isn't.

The rest of the day, and I am working backwards, was a laid back affair. I decided to have a restful Sunday so did little other than watch the cricket and read the paper while waiting for the girls to come back from Adam and Munchkin's. The cricket was fantastic, imho, and it was a shame about the couple of last wickets. I think the boys have done enough to convince the very many doubters that the series is not over before it has begun.
