Sal and I cannot "Just Switch Off our Television Set And Go Out And Do Something Less Boring Instead" as we have no television set. However we do have this laptop, some old PC speakers and a USB TV tuner and with that we are able to watch CSI Miami as an electrical storm hammers Sydney. Works pretty damn well too. And we have the internet. I should not be surprised when an ISP simply does what it is supposed to do and everything works, yet I am. One phone call saying we are moving from A to B and asking if Telstra can move our account and if we can move the cable modem. They said yes, this will never work thinks us, but it did and we're strangely impressed.
It's been a long day, so this is a quick wrap up. Today I lost my 19th floor window seat and moved 6 floors down to the technical dark ages of the 13th floor. No access to the floor with my pass, had to locate and run a network cable over desks to get logged on and no phone. Still, I only look after live banking systems. One elven hour day later I'm knackered. We're now on the same floor as the folks who bug us most, and I think they are really going to bug us for the next little while. Ho hum. Did not pay for a couple of things today. The storm kinda put me off going and getting the bike I won on Saturday on eBay. Nevermind, another bus trip to the City (12minutes - sweet!) tomorrow and I'll see what the weather is doing after that.
The other thing we've still not paid for is our house. No settlement today and I'm not over bothered that we are being made to wait to part with all of our money. Seems odd though. I think I'd be chasing payment if I'd sold my house.
