proved me right
So England got 147. Fantastic if you're playing snooker, fucking abysmal if you're playing test match cricket. Twenty four runs more than my predicted 123. I need to hear a press conference free of patronising cliches. Australia should say that England were woeful, not worthy opponents, come back when you've grown some balls. England should have the balls to say they're simply, comparatively shit, from selection to pitch. None of this "we played well in spells, had our moments, they are a great side, hats off to them" blah blah blah. Test matches! Two innings! Five days! My office is filled with the sound of derisive laughter, not because there is a whitewash but because of the way it is happening. Everyone expected England to lose, but we should have done it with passion, maybe in the manner of Slap shot. What is the worst that would have happened? Fines, banned from world cricket for a couple of years; who cares, at least they should've had a fucking go. Cricket; how the English feel shit about their place on the world stage when not out underachieving at an international Football tournament.
