I don't write much about work in case it comes back to bite me in the arse and I'll keep it that way. Friday was a laid back affair. Boss George and I mapped out the stuff I'm doing over the next little while and then work kinda stopped . It was the day of the works bash; we don't do it at Xmas when the consultants are schmoozing, rather after when things are a bit more quiet. It's a big boozy affair and everyone was up for it. Friday lunch is apparently always a two hour affair and so it was this week. Pub. Then back in the office it was declared beer o clock, the fridge was raided and beers hande out. A couple of leaving speeches and folks headed off to the pub before the party started. I think I'll like working here...and I'll be busy. The leavers? Yep, key players with lots of info around the stuff I'll be doing.
Not off to the party I headed home, changed and headed off for a run. Just a short one, to the harbour through the gully. Sweat my arse out - Friday was stinking humid. Spotted a good sized eel in the stream at the bottom of the gully. Unbothered by me hopping over it on the way there and the way back. Good eating, maybe, maybe not. The water in the gully is mostly run-off from the local roads. Friday finished with me going over that reading a couple of times and then heading to bed for a poor night's sleep in the humidity.
Saturday was an early start; I got up a little after 6 and took the dog for a wander before we headed out to pick up JCJ and Susan and head off south for the christening. Weather deteriorated, was pissing down when we got there at a little before 11. Christening blah, nibbles blah (BUT! smoked lamb, dear god is there a nicer meat product?) Was nice to catch up but it was a long day for a 15min vicar-just-read-from-a-bit-of-paper do. Was expecting som ad-libbing. Ho-hum.
Right - I'm off for a while; distracted by Ghost In The Shell and want to watch it...damn fine Manga stuff.
