cheap points
Good (not) to see PM Rudd has added his voice to an ill-educated nonsense bit of nannying that may destroy the career of an artist. Maybe he'd not heard that Bill Henson is one of the most respected photographers Australia has produced (so I read.) Maybe he thinks it it a good idea to make cheap political capital from drawing attention to what would otherwise be a fairly obscure exhibition by a talented artist. Maybe he thinks the Law Society don't know what they are on about when they say there is no case to answer. Online polls are already showing what a narrow-minded bunch the natives can be. Most, like me, will never have seen a Henson image. Very sad. I wish the politicians would stick to the things they should be doing; like using my tax dollars to buy helicopters that can't be flown at night, or hand some other tax dollars to the Catholic church (...odd, I thought we were secular...) so they can in turn give them to the gambling industry.
