life is great

I received a blast from the past email from an old friend this morning. I bumped into Penny once while back working in the UK and other than that have not seen spoken to her in maybe seven years, probably a lot more. Dunno. So, anyway, she has been driving past "Dad's place" recently, that jogged her memory and she pinged me an email. Which was nice.

I read said email around half an hour before JCJ was due to arrive to pick me up for our somewhat regular free dive with the sharks at Manly. Now lets think about that for a while. Today is the last day of Autumn so tomorrow is, officially, winter. And this morning I spent two hours in clear, warm, blue water with sharks and giant cuttlefish, huge schools of anchovy and loads of other fish. Read the divelog for more info on that. I do this pretty well every weekend. Tomorrow morning I'll be taking part in a bush trail run, the 15km Great Nosh through Sydney's middle harbour.

With all the current shit in the news it is easy to forget just how wonderful this place is. You simply need to get away from (some of) the people (hahahaha!)
