While still getting annoyed at the three cyclists - three! - who had three times - three! - cut in front at red lights on the way into work this morning and then taken off far more slowly than me, I managed to start pedallying without first planting my foot on my right pedal, hence the trickle of claret I noticed when I got to the car park. That's the pic. Not as impressive as when the Jeep parked on me.
So the ride to work was a somewhat frustrating affair, but I made reasonable progress and time. Another tired start to the day after another bad sleep, though I have to take some personal responsibility for the bottle of bubbly and falling asleep on the floor last night. Before the ride to work, of course, there was the dog walk with the little lady on my back, and that brings me to the lunchtime run.
I was running at about 2 seconds behind the rest of the world by noon, so decided to try a new strategy and had some food before heading out. Chicken schnitzel fuelled, I waited about an hour and then headed to Observatory Hill for my standard cross training. It went better than I thought it would, and as I ran along Hickson Road I questioned my decision to do some work on my abs after a schnitzel. I was going to do a 60second plank as part of each set, but dropped that idea pretty sharpish.
Probabaly ran ever-so-slightly further than usual as Observatory Hill was swarming with christmas partyers. At one point I was heckled by what appeared to be a football team os deunk santas in an amphibious military vehicle that had been painted bright yellow. I was feeling a bit spaced out, so maybe I hallucinated that bit.
Just got the ride home left for today, then maybe some rest at the weekend.
nah...
