I figured I'd treat this morning as a psuedo recovery run and was going to do a local loop that comes in at a smidge under 7km - in fact it is the same path as the end of yesterday's miles. So it was to be a slow run and I decided that, for what might be my first time ever in Australia, I'd wear some long track pants. To complete my overdressing I donned my old long sleeve Helly polypro thermal, a t-shirt and a cap. If it was 1994 I'd have looked cool, but it's all skins and compression tec today. I looked like a middle aged try-hard who never really got over the eighties.
Fair enough.
The left toe had a bit of a shout at me but nothing like yesterday afternoon, which is good. Legs ached, but I expect that because I don't stretch. We can discuss that later, dear reader. I took it pretty easy and after about a km came to realise why I don't wear thermals and long-pants in these parts. No matter, there was a water stop at about half way and I'd rather be warm when I'm knackered.
Half way turned out to be around 5km because I decided I'd push out to 10k this morning - could struggle for opportunities to run this weekend, so take the miles when you can. It was a pretty dull plod; I passed a couple of dog-walkers and a new-skool cool kid in his skins and VFFs (Vibram Five Fingers.) I think I looked cooler; more retro.
Right, that's it for this morning. Sun is up, sharks should have finished feeding so I'm off to get a coffee and throw my dog in the Harbour.
