Last night we went to the Lowenbrau bar and restaurant in the Rocks to celebrate Sal's birthday. A dozen of us had a pleasant night of Bavarian beer (alcohol free for me and JCJ), meat products (go the pork knuckle!) and dancing. Well, I didn't dance; I don't do dancing and with no alcohol to lower the inhibitions I remained strong in the face of peer group pressure. Everyone else danced, apart from pregnant sis-in-lae Michelle, so I am sure I will be in trouble. Anyway, it was a nice night and the sort of thing you'd expect for a birthday. No major incidents to report so I'll not dwell on it beyond the gong. One of Sal's presents was a handheld gong that has a satisfying note when hit with it's accompanying thing-you-hit-a-gong-with. It did a couple of laps of the table, made a brief move to a stags (bucks) night at the next table. Boooinnggggg! It certainly sounded better than the relentless oom-pah from the stage...my ears, my ears!
