Alex had a great night's sleep but I didn't do too well. I woke up at 4:30 and heard the rain outside. I decided to look at the bit of roof over our porch to see if the leak we'd had repaired was still leaking. Yep, still leaking. House about to be put up for sale. Arsechunks. So I stayed awake and stressed a bit, which was not the best use of my night time. I did nod off again for a bit and finally got up a bit before 7am, which is a proper lay-in. Sal wanted to go out for breakfast but I had about 30mins so I grabbed some even-older-but-slightly-drier-than-usual runners and headed out. Knocked out my first 7km, working up a nice appetite.

Then it was chores-o-clock. Adam the brother-in-law came over to help me take some of the heavy stuff to the lock-up - bookshelves, BBQ and so on. Nearly ended Juneathon prematurely by dropping a 4 burner BBQ. Adam is 6ft and I'm not. It all got a bit wobbly, but I think I got away with it. Back home and more of Sal's family turned up with pies and sausage rolls. Hmmm, plenty of people to help Sal look after the kids, I excused myself an headed out for another lap, kopping a bit of a soaking this time. Refreshing though.
As it turned out the second lap was the toughest. Yes I felt a bit tight, but it was mostly a mental struggle. I know that because I was thinking about dad, and that is a dead giveaway that I'm struggling. I did start to compose a blog entry about the old man, but the kids have been a bit of a 'mare this evening, so you may have to wait for that (or go back and read some of my stuff from Janathon.)
Back home and I did another trip to the lockup with sundry other bits that I could fit in my bus. Back home again and I was given permission to head out and knock off lap 3, which I was glad of. I had been planning to do it just before bedtime, after the kids were fed and in bed. The trip to the lockup had loosened the legs a bit and I felt pretty good. Kopped a proper soaking this time, but the miles came fairly freely and I felt as if I could keep going. Good job I didn't because the kids had been a bit mental and Sal was bit frazzled.
So there you go; today it was three laps of a local loop. Not the most inspiring miles, but happy to grab them while I could.
Oh, one more thing. Had bath and used some Adidas Active Shower For Men EXHILARATING TONIFIICANTE [with Pro-vitamin B5] Game Spirit Developed with ATHLETES. What a load of old bollocks. I stink, throw me a bar of soap. Does anyone buy this marketing nonsense?!

I love the idea of all those dedicated athletes helping push back the boundaries of shower gel technology!
